The Ian Laperriere Trophy is an annual ice hockey award given to "the 3rd or 4th line Colorado Avalanche player who was most effective." Each year, at the conclusion of the final game of the Avalanche season, members of the Anyone But Detroit blog vote to elect the player deserving of the trophy.

Matt Hendricks was the Colorado Avalanche's 2010 nominee for the Bill Masterton award, and it was well deserved. This is a player who at St Cloud State was the team's leading scorer. In order to achieve his dream of playing in the NHL, he transformed his game into gritty hockey with a big heart. Someone who is always willing to drop the gloves - up to and including team scrimmage games.
56 games, 9 goals, 7 assists, plus 1, 87 PIM. Keep it up, Matt.
