And our final award...

The Ray Bourque Trophy is an annual ice hockey award given to "the Colorado Avalanche moment of the season deemed to be the most enjoyable for its fans"  Each year, at the conclusion of the final game of the Avalanche season, members of the Anyone But Detroit blog vote to elect the moment deserving of the trophy.

And the nominees are:

1. Joe Sakic's retirement

2. Matt Duchene's shootout winner

3. Craig Anderson's post game interview

And the winner is...

Uhhh... Ummm... This one is really tough.  I could make a strong case each of these.  Could the Avalanche organization done a better job with Sakic's retirement?  Duchene coming through in the clutch, putting the Avs into the playoffs?  Andy sets a playoff record with 50 saves and the Pepsi Center goes crazy after an improbable goal??!

...I don't know...

Call me lame, but I'm gonna have to go 3 way tie here, folks.

And with that, I'm officially closing the book on the 2009-10 season.  What a season it was.  Can't wait for next year.

Is it October, yet?
