Let's get the obvious stuff out of the way, Stewart was a total beast in this game. With his penalty shot goal, Stewey killed two streaks that had gone one way too long. The Avs hadn’t scored a penalty shot goal since Jordan Leopold scored against Osgood in Dec 2008 and the Avs hadn’t had a hat trick since Dec 2007.
- Really glad to have #23 back in the lineup. God bless Ryan Stoa, but he isn’t ready to play with Duchene and Mueller.
- Yelle was a difference maker - particularly early. It’s pretty clear Yelle was brought in primarily for penalty killing - he was fantastic on the 4-3 kill in the first with the score at 2-1 Avs. It was fitting he got an assist on Hendricks empty netter.
- With the trade deadline having come and gone, isn’t in great that Svatos doesn’t have to eat up a spot in the lineup?
- *Uniform nerd update* The 8’s were in fact fixed on Mueller and Yelle’s jerseys.
- Over 18K at Pepsi Center last night. Despite Avalanche marketing's best effort, the casual Denver sports fans might be staring to figure out who these young Avs are.
Next game: Big one for 1st place in the NW (hopefully) at home against Vancouver, 7PM MST
