Sorry for the late post, just got a new netbook for my birthday, so its been a day of computer transition.  Nothing I thought was earth shattering in this game but here’s a few notes:

  • I thought it was a nice win for the Avs in the sense that they got badly outworked for stretches of the game, but found a way to win.
  • Isn't it funny how bad things like that happen at the worst possible time to bad teams.
  • Really slow start for the Avs.  They were lucky to get out of the first period only down 1-0.
  • Hejduk isn’t right.  His knee must be bothering him, he looks at least a stride slow, maybe more.  Not a surprise that he has turned down the Czech National team for the Olympics.  This also means that I’d like to see to someone else (Duchene / Wolski / Galiardi) back on the top line.
  • Liles didn’t have super game, but at least he can handle the puck, especially on the PP (unlike Clark).
