What a 3rd period from Craig Anderson! In a tied 3rd period, Calgary threw everything they could at the Avs, baldy outshot them 17-4 and couldn’t beat Andy. He certainly earned the point all by himself.
- My immediate reaction to the Koci fight: “Koci?! What the hell is Koci doing in the lineup?” Don’t you think a gritty, effective 4th line (Dupris / Hendricks / McLeod) would be nice in this game?
- The Avs outplayed Calgary for the first 15 minutes but couldn’t score. A bounce and a misread by Hannan / Wilson, and suddenly it was 1-0.
- Liles had a PP assist (Stastny tipped it in) and that is exactly why he has to stay in the lineup - he can produce offensively. He has 2 less points than Quincey despite having played in 15 less games.
- Cumiskey’s best game in a really long time, minus an awful giveaway to Ignila at his own blueline in the 3rd. Luckily Iggy missed the net (twice).
- Tucker was totally invisible. How he gets PP time is beyond me.
- What a goal by Stewart! (I’m pretty sure Stewart learned that shot from Buffalo’s Hecht.)
- The Avs are done with games in Calgary this season (unless these teams meet in the playoffs.) They gathered all 6 available points while Calgary collected only 1.
Next game: The Avs are off until Saturday. They have the Eastern Conference leading New Jersey Devils at home @ 1 MST.
