Like last game, don’t put too much into this loss. Sacco said all of right things after the game “We wanted to win this game” - blah, blah, blah - if they REALLY want to win this game, Andy would have been in net, Hejduk and Footer would have been in the lineup and Duchene wouldn’t have left the game.
- The biggest news, of course, was Duchene. Sacco said after the game that it was precautionary. Sounds like he’s fine - he probably won’t play on Sunday but I’ll be shocked if isn’t ready to go for Game 1.
- The Avs made a calculated move that rest was much more important than trying to get the 7th spot. That’s the right move - you’re going to get Chicago or San Jose either way, so what’s the point?
- I was shocked to see that Stastny ended up with just about 20 mins of ice time in the game That was pretty invisible ice time for 26.
- Congrats to Stoa on his first goal - even if it was incredibly soft. Stoa led the Avs with 7 SOG on goal - it was easily his best game in his very young career.
- If the Avs get the Hawks, watch out for Foote vs. Kopecky. Adam doesn’t get along with the former Red Wing.
