The Avs put together their first back to back regulation wins since October, getting up on the St Louis "no confidence at home" Blues and wearing them down.
- The Avs would love to get more of these games where the refs only call 1 minor penalty on each team for the whole game. They are a great 5 on 5 team.
- Stewart was an absolute beast. The next time you hear someone describe a player as a ‘beast’, think back to this performance and see if it really compares.
- Sacco’s top line strategy has become “put Stastny with my hottest wingers”. It worked tonight - the Blues had no answer for the Stastny / Stewart / Wolski line.
- Budaj was solid again. The Avs should just keep riding Budaj until he has a meltdown. Hopefully Andy is ready to go when that happens.
- The shutout had as much to do with Budaj and it did with the fact that St Louis just simply couldn’t hit the net. Windchester, Kariya, Oshie, it didn’t matter - all of them had some golden changes that would usually be goals and didn't even force Budaj to make a save.
- I like Hendricks’ game. I bet he’d get more ice time if Sacco could find a couple of wingers he could trust.
